Privacy Policy
Last modified: April 30, 2026
This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on Toward's website and our apps for iPhone, iPad, and any other devices and platforms.
We take your privacy seriously. We only collect basic information about how you use Toward so we can make it better. Collected information is anonymized, cannot be tied to your identity, and it is not shared with or sold to third parties.
Information we collect
We do not collect, store, or analyze any user-generated content you create within the app — your tasks, habits, notes, and any other content you add to Toward is your own and never visible to us.
Analytics
We use anonymized data from Apple (privacy policy) and Mixpanel (privacy policy) to understand how you use Toward. This data may include:
Your usage of Toward and its features
Your app preferences (preferred notification times, weather visibility, etc.)
Your device type (iPhone, iPad, etc.) and operating system
Your Toward subscription information (if you're a subscriber)
Mixpanel uses your IP address to derive an approximate location (city, region, and country) for analytics purposes. However, your IP address is not retained or used for any other purpose, and we do not receive your IP address or precise location.
Apple separately provides us with anonymized aggregate diagnostics and crash reports through App Store Connect. This data is collected and aggregated by Apple, not by us, and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Location
If you enable weather in Toward, the app requests access to your device's location to fetch current weather conditions via Apple's WeatherKit service. Your location is used only to retrieve a forecast and is never stored or transmitted to us. Apple's handling of WeatherKit data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can disable location access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Toward.
Calendar
If you grant calendar access, Toward reads your calendar events on-device to display them alongside your tasks. Toward never transmits your calendar data off your device. You can revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars → Toward.
Notifications
Toward may send you local notifications for task reminders and ritual check-ins if you grant permission. These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No notification content is transmitted to us. You can manage notification permissions in iOS Settings → Notifications → Toward.
Payments and subscriptions
We use Apple as the payment provider for all in-app purchases and subscriptions. Apple handles all billing, payment information, and refunds, and we never receive your payment details.
We use RevenueCat to manage trial periods and paid subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your purchase history — which subscriptions you have, when they were purchased, and their renewal status — associated with a randomly generated identifier. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID, and RevenueCat cannot identify you. RevenueCat's Privacy Policy can be found here.
If you email us at hello@toward.day for support or feedback, we retain the message and your email address so we can respond and reference past conversations. Your email address will never be used for marketing and will not be shared with third parties.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve Toward, our website, and customer support.
We do not share your personal information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to accomplish Toward's core functionality, as described above.
We may share aggregate statistics with outside parties — for example, general information about feature usage rates — but never in a form that could identify any individual user or device.
In the future, we may sell, merge with, or partner with other businesses. In such transactions, anonymized user information may be among the transferred assets.
Apple's services
Toward uses the following Apple services, each governed by Apple's Privacy Policy:
iCloud / CloudKit (private database) — syncs your planning data across your own devices. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account; we do not have access to it.
WeatherKit — provides weather forecasts based on your device's location.
EventKit — reads your calendar events for display on-device.
App Store Connect — provides us with anonymized aggregate diagnostics and any App Store reviews you choose to leave.
TestFlight — if you participate in beta testing, Apple shares your tester email address, device information, and any feedback or screenshots you submit, in accordance with Apple's TestFlight terms.
Accessing and deleting your data
Local data — Deleting the Toward app from your device removes all locally stored data.
iCloud data — To remove synced data from iCloud, go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Toward → Delete Data.
Analytics and subscription data — To request deletion of your anonymous analytics, subscription records, or email correspondence, contact us at hello@toward.day with the device on which you use Toward, and we will arrange deletion within 30 days.
